nominate yourself [03 Feb 2004|11:23pm]

supercarrot
i feel bad that i've been neglecting this community.... :-(

does anyone want to nominate themselves to be maintainer/co-maintainer? i just feel that i'm letting this community waste away.

not that i'm holding anyone else back from creating polls.... if you have the ability, and are curious, go at it.... the one thing that is a negative is that there are not that many members of the community... but this is definately a get-to-know-you kind of community thing... i wish i could promise that i'd keep up with creating one poll after another, but... i didn't keep to that promise i made last time.... so what would be different this time?

so, in true veg_statistics fashion.... i give you a poll
Poll #243374 vote, 2004!

raise your hand if you want to be considered for co-maintainer status

aye, captain!
1(16.7%)
*stares out into space*
5(83.3%)

::edit:: anubisismydad was the first to respond as a positive.
if anyone else wants maintainer status, it is still open. there may be as many maintainers as we want, but it is now up to anubisismydad to add anyone else as maintainer.

enjoy your new leader guys.
hopefully now it will be better.

what do you want to see a poll of? [26 Nov 2003|11:00am]
supercarrot
this message will be put onto the main page of the community for ease of access....
i thought it would have been able to be stuck to the top of the communty page, but apparently, it'll show up on your friends lists all the time if i did that... so i changed the approach....

if you do not have the ability to make polls (if you are not a paid member) comment here with any desires of poll subjects, and either i, or someone else in this community will make the poll for you.... eventually.

i still have to make a poll about "how far are you willing to compromise your vegetarianism for comfort level with non-vegetarians" inspired by tannhaus

and the first post still has some unmade poll ideas as well.

hey you guys. sorry that i've been neglectful with the polls lately.
i've been writing papers for school, and the reading was kicking my tuchus. the polls will recommence henceforth.... yayyy!!!!

and in honor of my returning to the poll making society..... here is a new poll..... it is inspired by new knowledge gained yesterday.....
those of you who are a member of vegan_candy, please vote as to what you thought red #40 was 2 days ago, so as to not skew the results. thank you. --carrie.

Poll #210801 red #40

what of the following do you believe?

red #40 = cochnieal = carmine = crushed up beetles
17(25.8%)
red #40 is a derivative of coal tar, so it is vegan

i've never heard of red #40
8(12.1%)
i'm not sure. i've heard stuff, but am not sure what i think.

1. Do you have any leather items that you use or wear?

2. What, if any, non-leather, leather like, items do you have and use?

3. Do you feel like your non-leather items are a good substitute for leather items?

4. Are there any items that are only available in leather or wool that you are tempted by?

5. What are your favorite fall weather, warm and cozy clothes?

democracy poll #1 [16 Oct 2003|08:31am]

supercarrot
this is your community.... you make the rules.
my pseudo rule about only one poll per day was just a suggestion... to reduce annoyance... but if you guys don't get annoyed by too many polls... have at it..... (most of the people who hate polls are over in the vegetarian community, and never came over here)

so... i was wondering if the limit of one poll per day was stupid or not... and then i saw that ethosgurl posted a poll over at veganpeople in the same day as another poll she posted... and i was wondering if it was posted there because of the rule, or because she just felt it belonged over there....
but who wants to make an amendment? ..... ok..... vote!

Poll #192478 democracy #1

start and finish your sentence with as many check boxes you need.

we should limit the amount of polls per day to one per community member...
0(0.0%)
we should be able to make as many polls as we want per day...
9(25.7%)
we should be able to make a couple polls on one day, as long as we're not making multiple polls every single day...
4(11.4%)
... as long as all the polls that are made are hidden behind an LJ cut.
2(5.7%)
... and i think an LJ cut is unneccesary. i like to see the polls at a glance

ok, lets see if we can get back some of our old polls [14 Oct 2003|04:32pm]

supercarrot
[ mood | crushed ]

race/gender poll

drug use/level of vegetarianism poll

a poll that does not take into consideration your own sex.

what do the leftover 2/3 do when all the veg men are taken?

i'm so sad..... if anyone knows how to reclaim our old polls that were deleted from vegetarian let me know.
and if you don't have the ability to make polls, don't fret... just post here what you're curious about... and someone will make you a poll....

polls that are coming up include:
religion and vegetarianism inspired by snippet17
wonderchuck would like to know "how often for each drug?"
inspired by tannhaus, "how far are you willing to compromise your vegetarianism for comfort level with non-vegetarians"

anyone else with suggestions, let me know.
